حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَكْثَرُ مَا يُصَلِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ وَالْأُخْرَى آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2045
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: What the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) mostly recited in the two rak'ahs before Fajr was: "We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibraheem (Abraham) Isma'il (Ishmael)..." [al- Baqarah 2:136] to the end of the verse, and: "we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah)" [Al 'Imran 3:52],
