حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ کَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُرِيَ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ أَنَّ أَبَا بَکْرٍ نِيطَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنِيطَ عُمَرُ بِأَبِي بَکْرٍ وَنِيطَ عُثْمَانُ بِعُمَرَ قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَلَمَّا قُمْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْنَا أَمَّا الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ فَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمَّا تَنَوُّطُ بَعْضِهِمْ بِبَعْضٍ فَهُمْ وُلَاةُ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ بِهِ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَرَوَاهُ يُونُسُ وَشُعَيْبٌ لَمْ يَذْکُرَا عَمْرَو بْنَ أَبَانَ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 4636
Jabir bin Abdullah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Last night a good man had a vision in which Abu Bakr seemed to be joined to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Umar to Abu Bakr, and Uthman to Umar. Jabir said: When we got up and left the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we said: The good man is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that their being joined together means that they are the rulers over this matter with which Allah has sent His Prophet ﷺ. Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Yunus and Shuaib, but they did not mention Amr bin Aban.
