حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّائُ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَی وَلِذَلِکَ خَلَقَهُمْ قَالَ خَلَقَ هَؤُلَائِ لِهَذِهِ وَهَؤُلَائِ لِهَذِهِ

سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 4615

Khalid al-Hadhdha, asked al-Hasan about the Quranic verse: “And for this did He create them. ” He said: He created these for this and those for that.
