و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عُذِّبَتْ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرَّةٍ لَمْ تُطْعِمْهَا وَلَمْ تَسْقِهَا وَلَمْ تَتْرُکْهَا تَأْکُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 5855
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: A woman was punished because of a cat. She had neither provided her with food nor drink, nor set her free so that she might eat the insects of the earth.
