أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ کَانَ يُکْرِي مَزَارِعَهُ حَتَّی بَلَغَهُ فِي آخِرِ خِلَافَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَنَّ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ يُخْبِرُ فِيهَا بِنَهْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَاهُ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَی عَنْ کِرَائِ الْمَزَارِعِ فَتَرَکَهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ بَعْدُ فَکَانَ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْهَا قَالَ زَعَمَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی عَنْهَا وَافَقَهُ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَکَثِيرُ بْنُ فَرْقَدٍ وَجُوَيْرِيَةُ بْنُ أَسْمَائَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3947
It was narrated from Náfi’ that Ibn Umar used to lease out his arable land until he heard at the end of Muawiyah’s Khilafah, that Rafi’ bin Khadij used to narrate, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم had forbidden that. He went to him — and I (Nafi’) was with him — and asked him (about that). He said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to forbid leasing arable land.” So Ibn ‘Umar stopped (doing that) afterward. When he was asked about it he said: “Rafi’ bin Khadij said that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade that.” (Sahih) ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Umar, Kathir bin Farqad, and Juwairiyah bin Asma’ were in accord with him.
