أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَی عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاکِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَی مِلَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ کَاذِبًا فَهُوَ کَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْئٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَی رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِکُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3849
It was narrated from Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, telling a lie, will be as he said, and whoever kills himself with something, he will be punished with it in the Hereafter, and there is no vow concerning that which a man does not possess.” (Sahih)
