أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَنْذِرُوا فَإِنَّ النَّذْرَ لَا يُغْنِي مِنْ الْقَدَرِ شَيْئًا وَإِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنْ الْبَخِيلِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3841
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Do not make vows, for a vow does not have any impact on the Qadar. Rather it is just a means of taking wealth from the miserly.” (Sahih)
