أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِکُمْ وَلَا بِالطَّوَاغِيتِ

It was narrated from ‘Abdur Rahman bin Samurah that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Do not swear by your forefathers or by false gods (At-Tawaghut).” (Sahih).
