أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُوصِي بِمَالِي کُلِّهِ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَالشَّطْرَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَالثُّلُثَ قَالَ الثُّلُثَ وَالثُّلُثُ کَثِيرٌ أَوْ کَبِيرٌ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3667
It was narrated from Saad that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم visited him when he was sick, and he said: “Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, shall I bequeath all of my wealth?” He said: “No.” He said: “Half?” He said: “No.” He said: “One-third?” He said: “One-third, and one-third is a much or large.”(Sahih)
