أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ عِيسَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَعْبٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَعْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي کَعْبًا يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِلَی صَاحِبَيَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُکُمْ أَنْ تَعْتَزِلُوا نِسَائَکُمْ فَقُلْتُ لِلرَّسُولِ أُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتِي أَمْ مَاذَا أَفْعَلُ قَالَ لَا بَلْ تَعْتَزِلُهَا وَلَا تَقْرَبْهَا فَقُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِکِ فَکُونِي فِيهِمْ حَتَّی يَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَلَحِقَتْ بِهِمْ خَالَفَهُ مَعْمَرٌ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3458
Abdur-Rehman bin ‘Abdullah bin Ka’b bin Malik narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Ka’b said: “I heard Ka’b narrate the Hadith about when he stayed behind and did not join the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم on the expedition to Tabuk. He said: ‘The envoy of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to me and said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم commands you to keep away from your wife.” I said: “Shall i divorce her, or what should I do?” He said: “No, just keep away from her and do not approach her.” And he sent similar instructions to my o companions. I said to my wife: “Go to your family and stay with them until Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, decides concerning this matter.” They were contradicted by Ma’qil bin ‘Ubaidullah. (Sahih)
