أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَی عَنْ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَی بْنُ عُقَيْلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَی يَقُولُ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُکْثِرُ الذِّکْرَ وَيُقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ وَيُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُقَصِّرُ الْخُطْبَةَ وَلَا يَأْنَفُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ مَعَ الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْکِينِ فَيَقْضِيَ لَهُ الْحَاجَةَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 1419
‘Abdullah bin Abi Awfa said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite a great deal of remembrance, engage little in idle talk, make the prayer long and keep the Khutbah short, and he would not refrain from walking with a widow or poor person and tending to their needs.” (Hasan)
