أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ أَبِي کَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الرَّکْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ وَسُورَتَيْنِ وَفِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ وَکَانَ يُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا وَکَانَ يُطِيلُ أَوَّلَ رَکْعَةٍ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 982
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite the Umrn Al-Qur’an and two Si rahs in the first two Rak’ahs of Zuhr and ‘Asr, and in the last two with Umm Al Qur’an, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes, and he used to make the first Rak’ah of Zuhr lengthy.” (Sahih)
