حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ أَنَّهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکُمْ أَأَدْخُلُ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 5179
Ribi said that a man of Banu Amir told him that he asked permission of the prophet ﷺ to enter the house. He related the tradition to the same effect, saying: I heard it and so I said: Peace be upon you. May I enter?
