حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ وَکَانَ مَوْلًی مِنْ أَهْلِ فَارِسَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُحُدًا فَضَرَبْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْمُشْرِکِينَ فَقُلْتُ خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْفَارِسِيُّ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ فَهَلَّا قُلْتَ خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 5123
Narrated Abu Uqbah: Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Uqbah quoted his father Abu Uqbah who was a client from the people of Persia as saying: I was present at Uhud along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and on smiting one of the polytheists I said: Take this from me who is the young Persian. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then turned to me and said: Why did you not say: Take this from me who is the young Ansari?
