حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَأَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَقُولُا أَلَسْتُمْ فِي طَعَامٍ وَشَرَابٍ مَا شِئْتُمْ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ نَبِيَّکُمْ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا يَجِدُ مِنْ الدَّقَلِ مَا يَمْلَأُ بِهِ بَطْنَهُ وَقُتَيْبَةُ لَمْ يَذْکُرْ بِهِ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 7459
Nu'man b. Bashir said: Don't you eat and drink according to your heart's desire, whereas I saw that your Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) (at times) could not find even an inferior quality of the dates with which he could fill his belly? Qutaiba, however, did not make a mention of It.
