حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ قَالَ عُبَيْدَةُ السَّلْمَانِيُّ بِهَذَا الْخَبَرِ قَالَ فَذَکَرَ نَحْوَهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَتَرَی هَذَا مِنْهُمْ يَعْنِي الْمُخْتَارَ فَقَالَ عُبَيْدَةُ أَمَا إِنَّهُ مِنْ الرُّئُوسِ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 4335
A similar tradition has also been transmitted by Ibrahim (al-Nakha’l) through a different chain if narrators. I (Ibrahim) said to Ubaidat al-Salmant: Do you think that his one of them, that is al-Mukhtar (al-Thaqaff)? He said: He is from the leaders.
