حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْثَرٌ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ کَعْبٍ قَالَ کَانَ رَجُلٌ لَا أَعْلَمُ رَجُلًا أَبْعَدَ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ مِنْهُ وَکَانَ لَا تُخْطِئُهُ صَلَاةٌ قَالَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَوْ قُلْتُ لَهُ لَوْ اشْتَرَيْتَ حِمَارًا تَرْکَبُهُ فِي الظَّلْمَائِ وَفِي الرَّمْضَائِ قَالَ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ مَنْزِلِي إِلَی جَنْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُکْتَبَ لِي مَمْشَايَ إِلَی الْمَسْجِدِ وَرُجُوعِي إِذَا رَجَعْتُ إِلَی أَهْلِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ جَمَعَ اللَّهُ لَکَ ذَلِکَ کُلَّهُ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 1514
Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: The most eminent among human beings (as a recipient of) reward (is one) who lives farthest away, and who has to walk the farthest distance, and he who waits for the prayer to observe it along with the Imam, his reward is greater than one who prays (alone) and then goes to sleep. In the narration of Abu Kuraib (the words are): (He waits) till he prays along with the Imam in congregation.
