حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَعِيلَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَکْوَعِ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَی الْحَجَّاجِ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ الْأَکْوَعِ ارْتَدَدْتَ عَلَی عَقِبَيْکَ تَعَرَّبْتَ قَالَ لَا وَلَکِنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَذِنَ لِي فِي الْبَدْوِ

صحیح مسلم · Hadith 4825

It has been narrated by Salama b. al-Akwa' that he visited al-Hajjaj who said to him: O son of al-Akwa', you have turned apostate and have come to live again in the desert with the Bedouins (after your migration). He said: No, but the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) has permitted me to live in the desert.
