و حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُا دَخَلْنَا عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِرْبَدًا وَهُوَ يَسِمُ غَنَمًا قَالَ أَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ فِي آذَانِهَا

صحیح مسلم · Hadith 5556

Anas reported: We went to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as he was in the fold and he was cauterising the animals of the flock and I think (he was cauterising them) on their ears.
