حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَی فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ اضْطَرَبُوا الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ فَلَبِسُوهَا فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمَهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِمَهُمْ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 5484
Anas b. Malik reported that one day he saw on the finger of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) a silver ring, and the people also made silver rings and put them on. Then Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) threw his ring away, and so the people also threw away their rings.
