و حَدَّثَنِيهِ يَحْيَی بْنُ حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ح و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ح و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ کُلُّهُمْ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ و قَالَ ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ يَحْيَی وَرَخَّصَ فِي کَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ وَالصَّيْدِ وَالزَّرْعِ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 4022
Ibn Mughaffal reported: Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) ordered the killing of dogs and then said: what is the trouble with them (the people of Medina)? How dogs are nuisance to them (the citizens of Medina)? He then permitted keehing of dogs for hunting and (the protection of) herds.
