و حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَکْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ تَقُولُ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ زَوْجِي أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ بِطَلَاقِي وَأَرْسَلَ مَعَهُ بِخَمْسَةِ آصُعِ تَمْرٍ وَخَمْسَةِ آصُعِ شَعِيرٍ فَقُلْتُ أَمَا لِي نَفَقَةٌ إِلَّا هَذَا وَلَا أَعْتَدُّ فِي مَنْزِلِکُمْ قَالَ لَا قَالَتْ فَشَدَدْتُ عَلَيَّ ثِيَابِي وَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ کَمْ طَلَّقَکِ قُلْتُ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ صَدَقَ لَيْسَ لَکِ نَفَقَةٌ اعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ عَمِّکِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَکْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ تُلْقِي ثَوْبَکِ عِنْدَهُ فَإِذَا انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُکِ فَآذِنِينِي قَالَتْ فَخَطَبَنِي خُطَّابٌ مِنْهُمْ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَأَبُو الْجَهْمِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ تَرِبٌ خَفِيفُ الْحَالِ وَأَبُو الْجَهْمِ مِنْهُ شِدَّةٌ عَلَی النِّسَائِ أَوْ يَضْرِبُ النِّسَائَ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا وَلَکِنْ عَلَيْکِ بِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 3713
Fatima bint Qais (Allah be pleased with her) reported that her husband divorced her with three, pronouncements and Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) made no provision for her lodging and maintenance allowance. She (further said): Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said to me: When your period of 'Idda is over, inform me. So I informed him. (By that time) Mu'awiya, Abu Jahm and Usama b. Zaid had given her the proposal of marriage. Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: So far as Mu'awiya is concerned, he is a poor man without any property. So far as Abu Jahm is concerned, he is a great beater of women, but Usama b. Zaid... She pointed with her hand (that she did not approve of the idea of marrying) Usama. But Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon himn) said: Obedience to Allah and obedience to His Messenger is better for thee. She said: So I married him, and I became an object of envy.
