و حَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ قِيلَ لَهُ أَنْتَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَکُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَی
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 2564
Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) forbade uninterrupted fasting. They (some of the Companions) said: You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).
