حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ وَوَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِکٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَضَلَّ اللَّهُ عَنْ الْجُمُعَةِ مَنْ کَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَکَانَ لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَکَانَ لِلنَّصَارَی يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ فَجَائَ اللَّهُ بِنَا فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لِيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَجَعَلَ الْجُمُعَةَ وَالسَّبْتَ وَالْأَحَدَ وَکَذَلِکَ هُمْ تَبَعٌ لَنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْأَوَّلُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمَقْضِيُّ لَهُمْ قَبْلَ الْخَلَائِقِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ وَاصِلٍ الْمَقْضِيُّ بَيْنَهُمْ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 1982
Abu Huraira reported Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), as saying: We who are the last would be the first on the Day of Resurrection but they (other Ummahs) were given the Book before us and we were given after them, and this was the day that was prescribed for them but they disagreed on it. And Allah guided us to it. and they came after us with regard to it, the Jews observing the next day and the Christians the day following that.
