حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَدْخُلُ الصَّلَاةَ أُرِيدُ إِطَالَتَهَا فَأَسْمَعُ بُکَائَ الصَّبِيِّ فَأُخَفِّفُ مِنْ شِدَّةِ وَجْدِ أُمِّهِ بِهِ
صحیح مسلم · Hadith 1056
Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) would listen to the crying of a lad in the company of his mother, in prayer, and he would recite a short surah or a small surah.
