حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَی عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ يَحْيَی بَعْضُ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ قُلْتُ آقْرَأُ عَلَيْکَ وَعَلَيْکَ أُنْزِلَ قَالَ فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةَ النِّسَائِ حَتَّی بَلَغْتُ فَکَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ کُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِکَ عَلَی هَؤُلَائِ شَهِيدًا قَالَ أَمْسِکْ فَإِذَا عَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانِ
صحیح بخاری · Hadith 4584
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Verse: "Obey Allah and Obey the Apostle and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority." (4.59) was revealed in connection with `Abdullah bin Hudhafa bin Qais bin `Adi' when the Prophet appointed him as the commander of a Sariyya (army detachment).
