حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ کَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ فُرِضَتْ الصَّلَاةُ رَکْعَتَيْنِ رَکْعَتَيْنِ فِي الْحَضَرِ وَالسَّفَرِ فَأُقِرَّتْ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ وَزِيدَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْحَضَرِ

صحیح مسلم · Hadith 1570

Qatada reported it on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: When any one of you omits the prayer due to sleep or he forgets it, he should observe it when he remembers it, for Allah has said: Observe prayer for remembrance of Me.
