حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَبَّاحٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَکَرِيَّائَ حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يُثْنِي عَلَی رَجُلٍ وَيُطْرِيهِ فِي مَدْحِهِ فَقَالَ أَهْلَکْتُمْ أَوْ قَطَعْتُمْ ظَهَرَ الرَّجُلِ
صحیح بخاری · Hadith 2663
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: The Prophet heard someone praising another and exaggerating in his praise. The Prophet said, "You have ruined or cut the man's back (by praising him so much).
