حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ يَدَ السَّارِقِ لَمْ تُقْطَعْ عَلَی عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا فِي ثَمَنِ مِجَنٍّ حَجَفَةٍ أَوْ تُرْسٍ

Narrated `Aisha: The hand of a thief was not cut off during the lifetime of the Prophet except for stealing something equal to a shield in value.
