حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الْبَرَائِ ح و حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا شُرَيْحُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَائَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا نَزَلَ صَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ کَانُوا لَا يَقْرَبُونَ النِّسَائَ رَمَضَانَ کُلَّهُ وَکَانَ رِجَالٌ يَخُونُونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ أَنَّکُمْ کُنْتُمْ تَخْتَانُونَ أَنْفُسَکُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْکُمْ وَعَفَا عَنْکُمْ الأية
صحیح بخاری · Hadith 4510
Narrated `Adi bin Hatim: I said, "O Allah's Messenger ! What is the meaning of the white thread distinct from the black thread? Are these two threads?" He said, "You are not intelligent if you watch the two threads." He then added, "No, it is the darkness of the night and the whiteness of the day.''
