أَخْبَرَنَا الثِّقَةُ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ جَيْشًا أَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَمِيرًا. . . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ. أَخْرَجَ الأَوَّلَ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلافِ الْحَدِيثِ، وَالثَّانِيَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْجِزْيَةِ.

Tell us confidence Yahya bin Hassan, Mohammed bin Aban, Alqamah bin Marthad, Suleiman ibn Buraydah from his father: that the Prophet, peace be upon him if he sent an army ordered them prince. . . And he mentioned the hadith. Take the first out of the second part of the hadith difference, and the second from the tribute book.
