أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ، يَقُولُ: اطَّلَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي حُجْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِدْرًى يَحُكُّ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُ لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ فِي عَيْنِكَ، إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الاسْتِئْذَانُ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ»

Tell us Sufian, said: Tell us syphilis, he said: I heard Sahl ibn Saad, says: see a man from the hole in the Prophet room peace be upon him and with the Prophet peace be upon him earners rubbed his head said the Prophet, peace be upon him: «If I know you consider I stabbed him in your eyes, but the permission was made for the sake of sight »
