أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ بَجَالَةَ يَقُولُ: كَتَبَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنِ اقْتُلُوا كُلَّ سَاحِرٍ وَسَاحِرَةٍ، قَالَ: فَقَتَلْنَا ثَلاثَ سَوَاحِرَ.

Tell us Shafei may Allah be pleased with him in his book, he said, told us Sufian, Amr ibn Dinar: that he heard Bjalh says, wrote Omar may Allah be pleased with him: to kill all enchanting and charming, he said: Afqatlna three Suahr.
