أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ: أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، قِيلَ لَهُ: مَنْ لَمْ يُهَاجِرْ هَلَكَ. فَقَدِمَ صَفْوَانُ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَنَامَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مُتَوَسِّدًا رِدَاءَهُ. فَجَاءَ سَارِقٌ فَأَخَذَ رِدَاءَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ رَأْسِهِ فَأَخَذَ صَفْوَانُ السَّارِقَ فَجَاءَ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَطَعَ يَدَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَمْ أُرِدْ هَذَا، هُوَ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةٌ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَهَلا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي بِهِ» .
مسند امام شافی · Hadith 1590
Tell us Shafei may Allah be pleased with him, he said: Tell us Malik from Ibn Shihab from Safwan bin Abdullah bin Safwan: that Safwan bin illiteracy, he was told: who did not emigrate perished. The city rose, and he slept in the mosque, cushioning his robe. Then came a thief took a robe from under the head of Safwan took the thief came by the Prophet peace be upon him ordered by the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him and cut off his hand, he said: I did not want this, it is a charity. The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “So, before you bring me with it.”
