حَدَّثَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ: أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ مَعَ فُلانٍ رِيحَ شَرَابٍ، فَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ شَرِبَ الطِّلاءَ وَأَنَا سَائِلٌ عَمَّا شَرِبَ، فَإِنْ كَانَ مُسْكِرًا جَلَدْتُهُ، فَجَلَدَهُ عُمَرُ الْحَدَّ تَامًّا.
مسند امام شافی · Hadith 1565
Tell us Shafei may Allah be pleased with him, said: Tell us Malik from Ibn Shihab from Saa'ib ibn Yazid: he told him that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab may Allah be pleased with him went out on them, he said: I found with so and so wind syrup, including claims that drinking paint and I means what drinking If it was intoxicating, I would whip it, and the entire age of it would be whipped completely.
