حَدَّثَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَزْهَرَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ حُنَيْنٍ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ رَحْلِ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، فَجَرَيْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ أَسْأَلُ عَنْ رَحْلِ خَالِدٍ، حَتَّى أَتَاهُ جَرِيحًا. وَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَارِبٍ، فَقَالَ: «اضْرِبُوهُ» ، فَضَرَبُوهُ بِالأَيْدِي وَالنِّعَالِ وَأَطْرَافِ الثِّيَابِ وَحَثَوْا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ التُّرَابِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «بَكِّتُوهُ» ، فَبَكَّتُوهُ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَهُ. قَالَ: فَلَمَّا كَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَسَأَلَ مَنْ حَضَرَ ذَلِكَ الْمَضْرُوبَ، فَقَوَّمَهُ أَرْبَعِينَ، فَضَرَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي الْخَمْرِ أَرْبَعِينَ حَيَاتَهُ، ثُمَّ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَرْبَعِينَ، حَتَّى تَتَابَعَ النَّاسُ فِي شُرْبِ الْخَمْرِ، فَاسْتَشَارَ فَضَرَبَهُ ثَمَانِينَ.
