قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، اسْتَعْمَلَ مَوْلًى لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ: هُنَيٌّ عَلَى الْحِمَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ: يَا هُنَيُّ، ضُمَّ جَنَاحَكَ، وَاتَّقِ دَعْوَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ، فَإِنَّ دَعْوَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ مُجَابَةٌ. وَأَدْخِلْ رَبَّ الصُّرَيْمَةِ وَالْغُنَيْمَةِ. وَإِيَّايَ وَنَعَمَ ابْنِ عَفَّانَ وَنَعَمَ ابْنِ عَوْفٍ، فَإِنَّهُمَا إِنْ تَهْلِكْ مَاشِيَتُهُمَا يَرْجِعَانِ إِلَى نَخْلٍ وَزَرْعٍ، وَإِنَّ رَبَّ الْغُنَيْمَةِ يَأْتِي بِعِيَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَفَتَارِكُهُمْ أَنَا؟ لا أَبَا لَكَ، فَالْمَاءُ وَالْكَلأُ أَهْوَنُ مِنَ الدَّنَانِيرِ وَالدَّرَاهِمِ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّ ذَلِكَ أَنَّهُمْ لَيَرَوْنُ أَنِّي قَدْ ظَلَمْتُهُمْ إِنَّهَا لَبِلادُهَا قَاتَلُوا عَلَيْهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، وَأَسْلَمُوا عَلَيْهَا فِي الإِسْلامِ. وَلَوْلا الْمَالُ الَّذِي أَحْمِلُ عَلَيْهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مَا حَمَيْتُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ بِلادِهِمْ شَيْئًا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ وَعِمَارَةِ الأَرْضِينَ مِمَّا لَمْ يَسْمَعِ الرَّبِيعُ مِنَ الشَّافِعِيِّ.
