أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ.

Malik, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, told us on the authority of Salem, on the authority of his father: that Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said: “Whoever lives in it.”
