عَنْ أُمِّہِ ابْنَۃِ حُسَیْنٍ: أَنَ شَھِدَ عِنْدَ عَلَیَّ عَلَی رُؤْیَۃِ ھِلالِ رَمَضَانَ، فَصَامَ وَأَحْسَبُہُ قَالَ:وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ یَصُومُوا۔ وَقَالَ:أَصُومُ یَومًا مِنْ شَعْبَامَ أَحَبُّ إِلَیَّ مَنْ أَنْ أَفْطِرَ یَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ۔ وَقَالَ الشَّافِعِیُّ بَعْدُ:لا یَجُوزُ عَلَی رَمَضَانَ إِلا شَاھِدَانِ۔ أَخْبَرَجَہُ مِنْ کِتَابِ الصِّئَامِ
مسند امام شافی · Hadith 612
On the authority of Ibn Husayn’s mother: He testified against Ali visions of the crescent of Ramadan, and he fasted and reckoned as he said: He commanded the people He said: I fast one day from the people I love until I break the fast one day from Ramadan۔ Al-Shafi’i said after: “Ramadan is only permissible for two witnesses.” Tell him from the Book of Fasting
