حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَحْيَی التَّوْأَمِ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ انْطَلَقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبُولُ فَاتَّبَعَهُ عُمَرُ بِمَائٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا عُمَرُ قَالَ مَائٌ قَالَ مَا أُمِرْتُ کُلَّمَا بُلْتُ أَنْ أَتَوَضَّأَ وَلَوْ فَعَلْتُ لَکَانَتْ سُنَّةً

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Prophet P.B.U.H went out to urinate, and ‘Umar followed him with water. He said: ‘What is this, 0 ‘Umar?’ He said, ‘Water.’ He aid: ‘I have not been commanded perform ablution every time I urinate. If I did that it would have become a Sunnah.” (Da’if)

حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْحِمْيَرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ کَانَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ يَتَحَدَّثُ بِمَا لَمْ يَسْمَعْ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيَسْکُتُ عَمَّا سَمِعُوا فَبَلَغَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو مَا يَتَحَدَّثُ بِهِ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ هَذَا وَأَوْشَکَ مُعَاذٌ أَنْ يَفْتِنَکُمْ فِي الْخَلَائِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِکَ مُعَاذًا فَلَقِيَهُ فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو إِنَّ التَّکْذِيبَ بِحَدِيثٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِفَاقٌ وَإِنَّمَا إِثْمُهُ عَلَی مَنْ قَالَهُ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اتَّقُوا الْمَلَاعِنَ الثَّلَاثَ الْبَرَازَ فِي الْمَوَارِدِ وَالظِّلِّ وَقَارِعَةِ الطَّرِيقِ

Abu Sa’eed Al-Himyari narrated that Mu’dh bin Jabal used to narrate something that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H had not heard, and he used to keep quiet about what they had heard. News of this report reached ‘Abdulláh bin ‘Amr, and he said: “By Allah, I never heard the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H say this, and Mu’ddh will put you into difficulty with regard to relieving yourself.” News of that reached Mu’âdh, so he met with him (‘Abdullâh). Mu’âdh said: “0 ‘Abdullâh Denying a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah is hypocrisy, and its sin is upon the one who said it (if it is not true). حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِيَّاکُمْ وَالتَّعْرِيسَ عَلَی جَوَادِّ الطَّرِيقِ وَالصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَأْوَی الْحَيَّاتِ وَالسِّبَاعِ وَقَضَائَ الْحَاجَةِ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ الْمَلَاعِنِ

It was narrated that Jâbir bin ‘Abdullâh said: “The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: ‘Beware of stopping to rest and praying in the middle of the road, for it is the refuge of snakes and carnivorous animals, and beware of relieving yourselves in the middle of the road, for this is an act that provokes curses.’” (Da’if)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ قُرَّةَ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی أَنْ يُصَلَّی عَلَی قَارِعَةِ الطَّرِيقِ أَوْ يُضْرَبَ الْخَلَائُ عَلَيْهَا أَوْ يُبَالَ فِيهَا

Sâlim narrated from his father that the Prophet p.b.u.h forbade praying in the middle of the road, or defecating there, or urinating. (Da’if)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ الْمَذْهَبَ أَبْعَدَ

It was narrated that Mughirah bin Shu’bah said: “Whenever the Prophet p.b.u.h went to relieve himself, he would go far away.” (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّی عَنْ عَطَائٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ کُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَتَنَحَّی لِحَاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ جَائَ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوئٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ

It was narrated that Anas said: “I was with the Prophet P.B.U.H on a journey. He went away to relieve himself, then he came and called for water and performed ablution.” (Da’if)

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ کَاسِبٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ عَنْ يَعْلَی بْنِ مُرَّةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ إِلَی الْغَائِطِ أَبْعَدَ

It was narrated from Ya’la bin Murrah that when the Prophet P.B.U.H went to relieve himself, he would go far away.(Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْخَطْمِيِّ قَالَ أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَاسْمُهُ عُمَيْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي قُرَادٍ قَالَ حَجَجْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَهَبَ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَأَبْعَدَ

It was narrated that ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Qurâd said: “I went for Hajj with the Prophet , and he went far away to relieve himself.” (Hasan)

عَبْدِ الرَّحْمٰنِ بْنِ أَبِی قَرَادٍ ← عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ وَالْحَارِثِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ ← اسْمُهُ عُمَيْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ← أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْخَطْمِيِّ ← يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ← أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَی أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَکَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَأْتِي الْبَرَازَ حَتَّی يَتَغَيَّبَ فَلَا يُرَی

It was narrated that Jâbir said: “We went out on a journey with the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H and the Messenger of Allah would not relieve himself until he had disappeared and could not be seen by anyone.” (Da’if)

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ کَثِيرِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا کَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْمُزَنِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ الْحَاجَةَ أَبْعَدَ

It was narrated from Bilal bin AlHârith Al-Muzani that when the Messenger of Allah p.b.u.h wanted to relieve himself, he would go far away. (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدِ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيُوتِرْ مَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِکَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ تَخَلَّلَ فَلْيَلْفِظْ وَمَنْ لَاکَ فَلْيَبْتَلِعْ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ أَتَی الْخَلَائَ فَلْيَسْتَتِرْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِلَّا کَثِيبًا مِنْ رَمْلٍ فَلْيَمْدُدْهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِمَقَاعِدِ ابْنِ آدَمَ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet p.b.u.h said: “Whoever uses stones to clean himself, let him use an odd number of stones. Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm in it. Whoever uses a toothpick should spit out (whatever he removes) and whoever removes (the particle of food) by dislodging it with his tongue should swallow it.Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm in it. Whoever goes to the toilet should conceal himself, and if he cannot find anything except a pile of sand (behind which to conceal himself), then he should use that, for the Shaitan plays with the backside of the son of Adam. Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm in it." (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ اکْتَحَلَ فَلْيُوتِرْ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ لَاکَ فَلْيَبْتَلِعْ

. A similar report was narrated by 'Abdul-Malik bin As- Sabbah with a similar chain, with the additional words: "Whoever applies kohl to his eyes let him add it an odd number of tunes. Whoever does that has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm in it. And whoever dislodges (a particle of food from between the teeth) by dislodging it with his tongue, let him swallow it."
