حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ عِنْدَ قَفَاهُ وَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ أَمَامَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ

Anas bin Malik narrated the Messenger of Allah p.b.u.h said: "This is the son of Adam, and this is his life span at his neck: then he spread his hand in front of him and said: 'And there is his hope." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ فِي حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ فِي حُبِّ الْحَيَاةِ وَکَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ

It was narrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H:"The heart of an old man is young in the love of two things: Love of life and much wealth." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَيَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَانِ الْحِرْصُ عَلَی الْمَالِ وَالْحِرْصُ عَلَی الْعُمُرِ

It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger ,of Allah P.B.U.H said: "The son of Adam grows old but two things remain young in him: His craving for wealth and his craving for a long life." (Sahih)

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Alah p.b.u.h said: "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would love to have a third along with them. Nothing could satisfy him except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of the One who repents:" (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَعْمَارُ أُمَّتِي مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَی السَّبْعِينَ وَأَقَلُّهُمْ مَنْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِکَ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "The ages of (the people in) my nation will be between sixty and seventy, and few of them will exceed that."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ وَالَّذِي ذَهَبَ بِنَفْسِهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مَاتَ حَتَّی کَانَ أَکْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَکَانَ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ کَانَ يَسِيرًا

It was narrated that Umm Salamah said: "By the One who took his soul P.B.U.H, he did not die until most of his prayers were offered sitting down. And the most beloved of deeds to him was a righteous deed which a person persists in doing, even if it is something small." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ کَانَتْ عِنْدِي امْرَأَةٌ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ قُلْتُ فُلَانَةُ لَا تَنَامُ تَذْکُرُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَهْ عَلَيْکُمْ بِمَا تُطِيقُونَ فَوَاللَّهِ لَا يَمَلُّ اللَّهُ حَتَّی تَمَلُّوا قَالَتْ وَکَانَ أَحَبَّ الدِّينَ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "There was a woman with me, and the Prophet P.B.U.H entered upon me and said. 'Who is that?' I said: 'So-and-so; she does not sleep." – she mentioned her excessive praying. 'The Prophet P.B.U.H said: 'Keep quiet. You should do what you are able to, for by Allah, Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) but you get tired:" She said: "The most beloved of religious deed to him was that in which a person persists." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُکَيْنٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الْکَاتِبِ التَّمِيمِيِّ الْأُسَيِّدِيِّ قَالَ کُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَکَرْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَتَّی کَأَنَّا رَأْيَ الْعَيْنِ فَقُمْتُ إِلَی أَهْلِي وَوَلَدِي فَضَحِکْتُ وَلَعِبْتُ قَالَ فَذَکَرْتُ الَّذِي کُنَّا فِيهِ فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا بَکْرٍ فَقُلْتُ نَافَقْتُ نَافَقْتُ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَکْرٍ إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُهُ فَذَهَبَ حَنْظَلَةُ فَذَکَرَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا حَنْظَلَةُ لَوْ کُنْتُمْ کَمَا تَکُونُونَ عِنْدِي لَصَافَحَتْکُمْ الْمَلَائِکَةُ عَلَی فُرُشِکُمْ أَوْ عَلَی طُرُقِکُمْ يَا حَنْظَلَةُ سَاعَةً وَسَاعَةً

t was narrated that Hanzalah Tamimi Al-Usaiyidi, the scribe said: “We were with the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H and we spoke of Paradise and Hell until it was as if we could see them. Then I got up and went to my family and children, and I laughed and played (with them). Then I remembered how we had been, and I went out and met Abu Bakr, and said: ‘I have become a hypocrite!’ Abu Bakr said: ‘We all do that.” So Hanzalah went and mentioned that to the Prophet , who said: “0 Hanzalah, if you were (always) as you are with me, the angels would shake hands with you in your beds and in your streets. 0 Hanzalah, there is a time for this and a time for that.” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اکْلَفُوا مِنْ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "Take on only as much as you can do of good deeds, for the best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ عِيسَی بْنِ جَارِيَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَی صَخْرَةٍ فَأَتَی نَاحِيَةَ مَکَّةَ فَمَکَثَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَوَجَدَ الرَّجُلَ يُصَلِّي عَلَی حَالِهِ فَقَامَ فَجَمَعَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عَلَيْکُمْ بِالْقَصْدِ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّی تَمَلُّوا

It was narrated that Jâbir bin Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H passed by a man who was praying on a rock, and he went towards Makkah and stayed a while, then he left and found the man still praying as he had been. He stood up and clasped his hands, then said: “0 peoples you should observe moderation," three times, “for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) but you get tired.” (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ وَأَبِي عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنُؤَاخَذُ بِمَا کُنَّا نَعْمَلُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَمْ يُؤَاخَذْ بِمَا کَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَمَنْ أَسَائَ أُخِذَ بِالْأَوَّلِ وَالْآخِرِ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: "We said: '0 Messenger of Allah, will we be taken to task for what we did in the Ignorance period?' The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: 'Whoever does good in Islam (i.e., after becoming a Muslim) he will not be taken to task for what he did in the Ignorance period, but whoever does evil (i.e., after entering Islam) he will be taken to task for both the former and the latter.(Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ بَانَکَ سَمِعْتُ عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي عَوْفُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِيَّاکِ وَمُحَقَّرَاتِ الْأَعْمَالِ فَإِنَّ لَهَا مِنْ اللَّهِ طَالِبًا

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said to me: '0 'Aishah, beware of (evil) deeds that are regarded as insignificant, for they have a pursuer from Allah. (i.e. accountability)." (Sahih)
