حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مَالِکٍ سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ کَيْفَ أَقُولُ حِينَ أَسْأَلُ رَبِّي قَالَ قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي وَجَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ الْأَرْبَعَ إِلَّا الْإِبْهَامَ فَإِنَّ هَؤُلَائِ يَجْمَعْنَ لَکَ دِينَکَ وَدُنْيَاکَ

Abu Malik, Sa'd bin Tariq, narrated from his father that when a man had come to the Messenger of Allah(saw), he heard him say: "0 Messenger of Allah, what should I say when I ask of Allah?" He said: "Say: Allahumma-ghfirli warhamni wa 'afini warzuqni (0 Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, keep me safe and sound and grant me provision)," and he held up his four fingers apart from the thumb and said: "These combine your religious and worldly affairs." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَبْرُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أُمِّ کُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَّمَهَا هَذَا الدُّعَائَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُکَ مِنْ الْخَيْرِ کُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الشَّرِّ کُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُکَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا سَأَلَکَ عَبْدُکَ وَنَبِيُّکَ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَاذَ بِهِ عَبْدُکَ وَنَبِيُّکَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُکَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ النَّارِ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَسْأَلُکَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ کُلَّ قَضَائٍ قَضَيْتَهُ لِي خَيْرًا

It was narrated from Aishah that the Messenger of Allah(saw) taught her this supplication: ( O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, in this world and in the Hereafter, what I know and what I do not know. 0 Allah, I seek refuge with You from all evil in this world and in the Hereafter what I know and what I do not know. 0 Allah, I ask You for the good that Your slave and Prophet has asked You for, and I seek refuge with you from the evil from which your slave and Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one colder to it, in word and deed, and I seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed. And I ask You to make every decree that You decree concerning me good).” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَی الْقَطَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِرَجُلٍ مَا تَقُولُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ أَتَشَهَّدُ ثُمَّ أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِهِ مِنْ النَّارِ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ مَا أُحْسِنُ دَنْدَنَتَکَ وَلَا دَنْدَنَةَ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ حَوْلَهَا نُدَنْدِنُ

It was narrated form Abu Hurairah that the Messenger ofAllah(saw) said to a man: "What do you say during your prayer?" He said: "I recite the Tashah-hud then I ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge with Him from Hell, but by Allah I do not understand your whispering or the whispering of Mu'adh." He said: "It is concerning them (Paradise and Hell) that we are whispering."(Sahih)
