حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ صَاحِبِ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ سَقْيُ الْمَائِ

It was narrated that Sa'd bin 'Ubadah said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what charity is best?' He said: 'Giving water to drink."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُفُّ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صُفُوفًا وَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَمُرُّ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَلَی الرَّجُلِ فَيَقُولُ يَا فُلَانُ أَمَا تَذْکُرُ يَوْمَ اسْتَسْقَيْتَ فَسَقَيْتُکَ شَرْبَةً قَالَ فَيَشْفَعُ لَهُ وَيَمُرُّ الرَّجُلُ فَيَقُولُ أَمَا تَذْکُرُ يَوْمَ نَاوَلْتُکَ طَهُورًا فَيَشْفَعُ لَهُ قَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَيَقُولُ يَا فُلَانُ أَمَا تَذْکُرُ يَوْمَ بَعَثْتَنِي فِي حَاجَةِ کَذَا وَکَذَا فَذَهَبْتُ لَکَ فَيَشْفَعُ لَهُ

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said: "On the Day of Resurrection, people will be lined up in rows, (one of the narrators) Ibn Numair said: i.e., the people of Paradise, and a man from among the people of Hell will pass by a man (from the people of Paradise) and say: "O so-and-so! Do you not remember the day when you asked for water and I gave you water to drink?" So he will intercede for him. And another man will come and say: Do you not remember the day when I gave you water with which to purify yourself?" and he will intercede for him." (In his narration, one of the narrators) Ibn Numair said: "And he will say: 'O so-and-so, do you not remember the day when you sent me to do such and such for you, and I went and did it for you?' and he will intercede for him."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَالِکِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمِّهِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْإِبِلِ تَغْشَی حِيَاضِي قَدْ لُطْتُهَا لِإِبِلِي فَهَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ سَقَيْتُهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ فِي کُلِّ ذَاتِ کَبِدٍ حَرَّی أَجْرٌ

It was narrated that Suraqah bin Jushum said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah about a lost camel that comes to my cisterns that I have prepared for my own camels – will I be rewarded if I give it some water to drink? He said: 'Yes , in every living being there is reward."
