حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّائُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ کَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَی کُلِّ شَيْئٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُکُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ

It was narrated from Shaddad bin Aws that the Messenger of Allah said: "Allah has prescribed Al-Ihsan (proficiency) in all things. So if you kill, then kill well, and if you slaughter, then slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَجُرُّ شَاةً بِأُذُنِهَا فَقَالَ دَعْ أُذُنَهَا وَخُذْ بِسَالِفَتِهَا

It was narrated that "Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said: The Prophet passed by a man who was dragging a sheep by its ear. He said: 'Leave its ear alone and hold it by the sides of its neck.’

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ أَخِي حُسَيْنٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي قُرَّةُ بْنُ حَيْوَئِيلَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحَدِّ الشِّفَارِ وَأَنْ تُوَارَی عَنْ الْبَهَائِمِ وَقَالَ إِذَا ذَبَحَ أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيُجْهِزْ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah commanded that the blade should be sharpened, and hidden from the animals, and he said: 'When one of you slaughters, let him do it quickly." Another chain with similar wording.
