حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ و حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ کُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ مِنْ تِهَامَةَ فَأَصَبْنَا إِبِلًا وَغَنَمًا فَعَجِلَ الْقَوْمُ فَأَغْلَيْنَا الْقُدُورَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقْسَمَ فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُکْفِئَتْ ثُمَّ عَدَلَ الْجَزُورَ بِعَشَرَةٍ مِنْ الْغَنَمِ

It was narrated that Rafi' bin Khadij said: "We were with the Messenger of Allah in Dhul-Hulaifah in (the land of) Tihamah. We acquired sheep and camels and the people hastened to put cooking pots on the fires before they had been distributed. The Messenger of Allah came to us and ordered that they be overturned then he made one camel equivalent to ten sheep."

رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، ← عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ ← زَائِدَةَ ← الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ و ← سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ← الْمُحَارِبِيُّ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ ← أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ،

ابن ماجہ · كِتَابُ الْأَضَاحِي · Hadith 3137

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that a man came to the Prophet and said: "I have to offer a sacrifice and I can afford it, but I cannot find (a camel) to buy." The Prophet told him to buy seven sheep and slaughter them.
