حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ وَيَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَابْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِي الْعُسْرِ وَالْيُسْرِ وَالْمَنْشَطِ وَالْمَکْرَهِ وَالْأَثَرَةِ عَلَيْنَا وَأَنْ لَا نُنَازِعَ الْأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ وَأَنْ نَقُولَ الْحَقَّ حَيْثُمَا کُنَّا لَا نَخَافُ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ

It was narrated that 'Ubadah bin Samit said: "We gave our pledge to the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H , pledging to listen and obey in times of hardship and times of ease, willingly or reluctantly, and when others are shown preference over us, and that we would not dispute the order of those in charge, that we would speak the truth wherever we are, and that we would not fear the blame of anyone when acting or speaking for the sake of Allah." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ التَّنُوخِيُّ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَبِيبُ الْأَمِينُ أَمَّا هُوَ إِلَيَّ فَحَبِيبٌ وَأَمَّا هُوَ عِنْدِي فَأَمِينٌ عَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ قَالَ کُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَةً أَوْ ثَمَانِيَةً أَوْ تِسْعَةً فَقَالَ أَلَا تُبَايِعُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَبَسَطْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا قَدْ بَايَعْنَاکَ فَعَلَامَ نُبَايِعُکَ فَقَالَ أَنْ تَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِکُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُوا الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ وَتَسْمَعُوا وَتُطِيعُوا وَأَسَرَّ کَلِمَةً خُفْيَةً وَلَا تَسْأَلُوا النَّاسَ شَيْئًا قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بَعْضَ أُولَئِکَ النَّفَرِ يَسْقُطُ سَوْطُهُ فَلَا يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا يُنَاوِلُهُ إِيَّاهُ

Awf bin Malik Al-Asbja'I said: "We were with the Prophet P.B.U.H seven or eight or nine of us – and he said: 'Will you not give pledge to the Messenger of AlIah?' So we strgetched forth our hands and someone said: '0 Messenger of Allah, we have already given you our pledge. On what basis shall we give this pledge?' He said: '(On the basis that) you will worship Allah and not associate anything with Him, you will establish the five daily prayers, you will listen and obey' – then he spoke some words under his breath – 'and you will not ask the people for anything: He said: 'I saw some of that group. If he dropped his whip he would not ask anyone to pick it up for him.'" (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَتَّابٍ مَوْلَی هُرْمُزَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ يَقُولُ بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ

It was narrated that' Attab the freed slave of Hurmuz, said: "I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'We gave our pledge to the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H on the basis that we would listen and obey. He said: As much as you can." (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ جَائَ عَبْدٌ فَبَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی الْهِجْرَةِ وَلَمْ يَشْعُرْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ عَبْدٌ فَجَائَ سَيِّدُهُ يُرِيزُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعْنِيهِ فَاشْتَرَاهُ بِعَبْدَيْنِ أَسْوَدَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يُبَايِعْ أَحَدًا بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ حَتَّی يَسْأَلَهُ أَعَبْدٌ هُوَ

It was narrated that Jabir said: A slave came and gave his pledge to the Prophet pledging to emIgrate,. and the Prophet P.B.U.H did not realize that he was a slave. Then his master came looking for him, and the Prophet said: 'Sell him to me: and he bought him in exchange for two black slaves. Then after that he did not accept the pledge from anyone until he had asked whether he was a slave:' (Sahih)
