حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا غَيْلَانُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ إِنِّي أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَی اللَّهِ أَنْ يُکَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ وَالَّتِي بَعْدَهُ

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "Fasting on the Day of 'Arafah, I hope from Allah, expiates for the sins of the year before and the year after."(Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ إِسْحَقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ غُفِرَ لَهُ سَنَةٌ أَمَامَهُ وَسَنَةٌ بَعْدَهُ

It was narrated that Qatadah bin Nu'man said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H say: 'Whoever fasts the Day of 'Arafah, his sins of the previous and following year will be forgiven."(Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ حَدَّثَنِي حَوْشَبُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَهْدِيٌّ الْعَبْدِيُّ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَی أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ نَهَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ

It was narrated that 'Ikramah said: "I entered upon Abu Hurairah in his house and asked him about fasting the Day of "Arafah at "Arafat. Abu Hurairah said: 'The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H forbade fasting the Day of 'Arafah at' Arafat.''' (Hasan)
