أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَی بَعِيرٍ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّکْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم. circumambulated (the Ka’bah) during the Farewell Pilgrimage on a camel, touching the Corner with a crook-ended stick. (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عَلَی رَاحِلَتِهِ فَإِذَا انْتَهَی إِلَی الرُّکْنِ أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to circumambulate the House on his mount, and when he reached the Corner he pointed to it. (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُسْلِمًا الْبَطِينَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ کَانَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ تَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَهِيَ عُرْيَانَةٌ تَقُولُ الْيَوْمَ يَبْدُو بَعْضُهُ أَوْ کُلُّهُ وَمَا بَدَا مِنْهُ فَلَا أُحِلُّهُ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَکُمْ عِنْدَ کُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ

It was narrated from Saeed bin Jubair that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “Women used to circumambulate the Ka’bah naked, saying: ‘Today some, or all of it will appear And whatever appears I do not make it permissible.’ Then the following was revealed: ‘Children of Adam! Take your adornment to every Masjid.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا بَکْرٍ بَعَثَهُ فِي الْحَجَّةِ الَّتِي أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فِي رَهْطٍ يُؤَذِّنُ فِي النَّاسِ أَلَا لَا يَحُجَّنَّ بَعْدَ الْعَامِ مُشْرِکٌ وَلَا يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ

Abu Hurairah narrated that Abu Bakr sent him, during the Hajj that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم appointed him to lead before the Farewell Pilgrimage, with a group of others to announce to the people: “No idolator is to perform Hajj after this year, and no one is to circumambulate the House naked.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ الْمُحَرَّرِ بْنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ جِئْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ حِينَ بَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَی أَهْلِ مَکَّةَ بِبَرَائَةَ قَالَ مَا کُنْتُمْ تُنَادُونَ قَالَ کُنَّا نُنَادِي إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُؤْمِنَةٌ وَلَا يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ وَمَنْ کَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهْدٌ فَأَجَلُهُ أَوْ أَمَدُهُ إِلَی أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ فَإِذَا مَضَتْ الْأَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيئٌ مِنْ الْمُشْرِکِينَ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَحُجُّ بَعْدَ الْعَامِ مُشْرِکٌ فَکُنْتُ أُنَادِي حَتَّی صَحِلَ صَوْتِي

It was narrated from Muharrar bin Abi Hurairah that his father said: “I came with ‘Ali bin Abi Talib when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم sent him to the people of Makkah with news of the dissolution of treaty obligations.” He said: “How did you announce it?” He said: “We announced that no one would enter Paradise but a believing soul, no one was to circumambulate the House naked; whoever had a treaty with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم then for its period, or, it extended to four months, and when four months had passed, and that Allah is free from (all) obligations to the idolators and so is His Messenger. No idolator was to perform -Iajj after this year. I kept on announcing it until my voice grew hoarse.” (Hasan)

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ يَحْيَی عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ کَثِيرِ بْنِ کَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ سُبُعِهِ جَائَ حَاشِيَةَ الْمَطَافِ فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الطَّوَّافِينَ أَحَدٌ

It was narrated that Al Muttalib bin Abi Wada’ah said: “I saw the Prophet when he had completed his seven (circuits of Tawaf); he came to the edge of the Mataf and prayed two Rak’ahs, with nothing in between him and the people who were circumambulating.”(Da’if)

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو قَالَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ سَبْعًا وَصَلَّی خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَطَافَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَقَالَ لَقَدْ کَانَ لَکُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ

It was narrated that ‘Amr — meaning, bin ‘Umar — said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came and circumambulated the House seven times, then he prayed two Rak’ahs behind the Maqam and performed Sa’I between As-Safa and Al Marwah, and he said: “Indeed in the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم you have a good example to follow.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ سَبْعًا رَمَلَ مِنْهَا ثَلَاثًا وَمَشَی أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ قَامَ عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّی وَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَاسْتَلَمَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ فَقَالَ نَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ فَبَدَأَ بِالصَّفَا فَرَقِيَ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّی بَدَا لَهُ الْبَيْتُ فَقَالَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيکَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْکُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَی کُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَدِيرٌ فَکَبَّرَ اللَّهَ وَحَمِدَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَا قُدِّرَ لَهُ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ مَاشِيًا حَتَّی تَصَوَّبَتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي بَطْنِ الْمَسِيلِ فَسَعَی حَتَّی صَعِدَتْ قَدَمَاهُ ثُمَّ مَشَی حَتَّی أَتَی الْمَرْوَةَ فَصَعِدَ فِيهَا ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُ الْبَيْتُ فَقَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيکَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْکُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَی کُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَدِيرٌ قَالَ ذَلِکَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ ذَکَرَ اللَّهَ وَسَبَّحَهُ وَحَمِدَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا عَلَيْهَا بِمَا شَائَ اللَّهُ فَعَلَ هَذَا حَتَّی فَرَغَ مِنْ الطَّوَافِ

It was narrated that Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم circumambulated the House seven times, walking rapidly (Rami) in three, and walking (at a regular pace) for four. Then he stood near the Maqam and prayed two Rak’ahs. Then he recited: ‘And take you the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim as a place of prayer,’ raising his voice, so that the people would hear. Then he went (to perform Sa‘) and said: ‘We will start with that with which Allah started.’ So he started with As Safa, climbing up, until he could see the House, and he said three times:(There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the dominion and to Him be praise, He gives life and death, and He has power over all things).’ Then exclaimed Allah’s greatness, then he supplicated as much as was decreed for him. Then he came down walking until he reached level ground at the bottom of the valley. Then he hastened until the ground began to rise. Then he walked until he came to Al-Marwah and climbed up it, and when he could see the House he said: (There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the dominion and to Him be praise, and He has power over all things).’ He said that three times, then he remembered Allah and glorified and praised Him, then he supplicated there for as long as Allah willed. And he did that until he finished Sa‘” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ سَبْعًا رَمَلَ ثَلَاثًا وَمَشَی أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّی فَصَلَّی سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَجَعَلَ الْمَقَامَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْکَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ اسْتَلَمَ الرُّکْنَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ فَابْدَئُوا بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ

It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم performed Tawaf, walking rapidly (Ram!) for three circuits, and walking at a ormal pace for four. Then he recited: “And take you the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.” and prayed two Rak’ahs with the Maqa,n between him and the Ka’bah. Then he touched the Corner, then he went out and said: ‘As-Safa and Al Marwah are two of the symbols of Allah. We will start with that with which Allah started.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ کَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا انْتَهَی إِلَی مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَرَأَ وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّی فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ فَقَرَأَ فَاتِحَةَ الْکِتَابِ وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْکَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَی الرُّکْنِ فَاسْتَلَمَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَی الصَّفَا

It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to Maqam Ibrahim he recited: “And take you the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.” Then he prayed two Rak’ahs reciting the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and: “Say: you disbelievers.” and “Say: He is Allah, (the) One.” Then he went back to the Corner and touched it, then he went out to As-Safa. (Sahih)

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم drank from the water of Zamzam while standing. (Sahih)

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “I gave the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم some Zamzam to drink, and he drank it while standing.” (Sahih)
