أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ إِذَا قَعَدَ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ وَضَعَ کَفَّهُ الْيُسْرَی عَلَی فَخِذِهِ الْيُسْرَی وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ لَا يُجَاوِزُ بَصَرُهُ إِشَارَتَهُ

It was narrated from ‘Amir bin ‘Abdullah bin Az-Zubair, from his father, that when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم sat to say the Tashahhud, he placed his left hand on his left thigh and pointed with his forefinger, and his gaze did not go beyond the finger with which he was pointing.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ عَنْ رَفْعِ أَبْصَارِهِمْ عِنْدَ الدُّعَائِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ إِلَی السَّمَائِ أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ‘صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “People should certainly stop lifting their gaze to the sky when they supplicate during the prayer, or they will lose their eyesight.”

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمَنْصُورٌ عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ کُنَّا نَقُولُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُفْرَضَ التَّشَهُّدُ السَّلَامُ عَلَی اللَّهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَی جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيکَائِيلَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَقُولُوا هَکَذَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هُوَ السَّلَامُ وَلَکِنْ قُولُوا التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

It was narrated that Ibn Ma’sud said: “Before the Tashahhud was enjoined, when we prayed we used to say: ‘Peace (As-Salam) be upon Allah, peace be upon Jibril, peace be upon Mlka’Il.’ The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم f said: ‘Do not say this, for indeed Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, is As-Salam. Rather say: (All compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).”

ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ← شَقِيقُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ← الْأَعْمَشُ، وَمَنْصُورٌ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ کَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to teach us the Tashahhud just as he used to teach us a Surah from the Qur’an.” (Sahih)

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ← طَاوْسٍ ← أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ← عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، ← يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ← أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هُوَ السَّلَامُ فَإِذَا قَعَدَ أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ثُمَّ لِيَتَخَيَّرْ بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ مِنْ الْکَلَامِ مَا شَائَ

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, is As-Salam (the source of peace; the One free from all faults), so when any one of you sits (during the prayer), let him say: (All compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the percy of Allah and His blessings. !eace be upon us and upon the hteouS slaves of Allah. I bear ,vhness that none has the right to e worshipped except Allah alone ‘without partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).” Then after that let him choose whatever words he wants.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَنَا فَعَلَّمَنَا سُنَّتَنَا وَبَيَّنَ لَنَا صَلَاتَنَا فَقَالَ إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَی الصَّلَاةِ فَأَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَکُمْ ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّکُمْ أَحَدُکُمْ فَإِذَا کَبَّرَ فَکَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا قَالَ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ فَقُولُوا آمِينَ يُجِبْکُمْ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا کَبَّرَ وَرَکَعَ فَکَبِّرُوا وَارْکَعُوا فَإِنَّ الْإِمَامَ يَرْکَعُ قَبْلَکُمْ وَيَرْفَعُ قَبْلَکُمْ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتِلْکَ بِتِلْکَ وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَکَ الْحَمْدُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ عَلَی لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا کَبَّرَ وَسَجَدَ فَکَبِّرُوا وَاسْجُدُوا فَإِنَّ الْإِمَامَ يَسْجُدُ قَبْلَکُمْ وَيَرْفَعُ قَبْلَکُمْ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتِلْکَ بِتِلْکَ وَإِذَا کَانَ عِنْدَ الْقَعْدَةِ فَلْيَکُنْ مِنْ قَوْلِ أَحَدِکُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ التَّحِيَّاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ لِلَّهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

It was narrated from Hittan bin ‘Abdullah that Al-Ash’ari said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم addressed us and taught us our Sunnahs and our prayer. He said: ‘When you stand for the prayer, make your rows straight, then let one of you lead the others. When he says the Takbir, then say the Takbir; when he says: “Wa lada ldllIn” then say “Amin,” and Allah will answer you. Then when he says the Takbir and bows, then say the Takbir and bow, for the Imam bows before you and stands up before you.’ The Prophet of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘This makes up for that. When he says: “Sami’ Allahu liman Hamidah (Allah hears the one who praises Him),” say: “Allahumma, Rabbanawa lakal-hamd (Allah, our Lord, to You be praise),” Allah will hear you, for indeed Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has said on the tongue of His Prophet: “Allah hears the one who praises Him.” Then when he says the Takbir and prostrates, say the Takbir and prostrate, for the Imam prostrates before you and rises before you.’ The Prophet of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘This makes up for that. Then when you are sitting, let the following be among what one of you says: At tahiyyatut-tayyibatus-salawatu lillahi, as-salamu ‘alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmat-Allahi wa barakatuhu. As-salamu ‘alaina wa ‘ala ‘ibad illahis-salihIn, ashhadu an Ia ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (All compliments, good words and prayers are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).” (Sahih).

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيْمَنُ ابْنُ نَابِلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ کَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِاللَّهِ التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَأَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِهِ مِنْ النَّارِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا تَابَعَ أَيْمَنَ بْنَ نَابِلٍ عَلَی هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ وَأَيْمَنُ عِنْدَنَا لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ وَالْحَدِيثُ خَطَأٌ وَبِاللَّهِ التَّوْفِيقُ

It was narrated that Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to teach us the Tashahhud just as he would teach us a Sarah of the Qur’an: ‘(In the name of Allah and by the help of Allah. All compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. I ask Allah for Paradise and I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire).” (Da’if)

جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ← أَيْمَنُ ابْنُ نَابِلٍ ← أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، ← عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَکَمِ الْوَرَّاقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ح و أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ زَاذَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَلَائِکَةً سَيَّاحِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يُبَلِّغُونِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي السَّلَامَ

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Allah has angels who travel around on Earth conveying to me the Salams of my Ummah.” (Sahih)

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← زَاذَانَ ← عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ← سُفْيَانَ، ← وَکِيعٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ← مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ ← و، ← سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ← مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ← عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ الْوَرَّاقُ،

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْکَوْسَجُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ قَالَ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا سُلَيْمَانُ مَوْلَی الْحَسَنِ ابْنِ عَلِيٍّ زَمَنَ الْحَجَّاجِ فَحَدَّثَنَا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَائَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَالْبُشْرَی فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّا لَنَرَی الْبُشْرَی فِي وَجْهِکَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي الْمَلَکُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ رَبَّکَ يَقُولُ أَمَا يُرْضِيکَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْکَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا وَلَا يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْکَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Abi Talhah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came one day with a cheerful expression on his face, and we said: “We see you looking cheerful.” He said: “The Angel came to me and said: ‘Muhammad, your Lord says: ‘Will it not please you (to know) that no one will send Salah upon you but I will send Salah upon him tenfold, and no one will send Salams upon you but I will send Salams upon him tenfold?” (Hasan)

أَبِيهِ ← عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، ← قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا سُلَيْمَانُ مَوْلَی الْحَسَنِ ابْنِ عَلِيٍّ زَمَنَ الْحَجَّاجِ ← ثَابِتٍ، ← حَمَّادٍ، ← عَفَّانُ ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْکَوْسَجُ

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ أَنَّ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ الْجَنْبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَدْعُو فِي صَلَاتِهِ لَمْ يُمَجِّدْ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَجِلْتَ أَيُّهَا الْمُصَلِّي ثُمَّ عَلَّمَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي فَمَجَّدَ اللَّهَ وَحَمِدَهُ وَصَلَّی عَلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ادْعُ تُجَبْ وَسَلْ تُعْطَ

Fadalah bin ‘Ubaid said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم heard a man supplicating during the prayer without glorifying Allah nor sending alah upon the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘You are in a hurry, worshipper.’ Then the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم taught them. And the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم heard a man praying; he glorified and praised Allah and sent Salah upon the Prophet The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Supplicate, you will be answered; ask, you will be given.” (Sahih)

أَبِي هَانِئٍ ← ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ،

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُجْمِرِ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الَّذِي أُرِيَ النِّدَائَ بِالصَّلَاةِ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَجْلِسِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ بَشِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ أَمَرَنَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْکَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَکَيْفَ نُصَلِّ عَلَيْکَ فَسَکَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّی تَمَنَّيْنَا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَی آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَی آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَبَارِکْ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَی آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلَی آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّکَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ وَالسَّلَامُ کَمَا عَلِمْتُمْ

It was narrated that Abu Mas’ud Al-Ansari said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to us in the Majlis of Saad bin ‘Ubadah and Bashir bin Saad said to him: ‘Allah has commanded us to send Salah upon you, Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم; so how should we send Salah upon you?’ The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم remained silent until we wished that he had not asked him. Then he said: ‘Say:(Allah, send alah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Salah upon the family of Ibrahim, and send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim among the nations. You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory).” And the Salam is as you know.” (Sahih).

نُعَیْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللہِ الْمُجْمِرِ، ← مَالِكٍ، ← ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، ← أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْکَ وَنُسَلِّمَ أَمَّا السَّلَامُ فَقَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ فَکَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْکَ قَالَ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَی آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِکْ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلَی آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

It was narrated that Abu Mas’ud Al-Ansari said: “It was said to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ‘We have been commanded to send Salah and Salams upon you. We know how to send Salams, but how should we send alah?’ He said: ‘Say: “Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad kamasallaita ‘ala au Ibrahim. Allahumma bank ‘ala Muhammad kama barakta ‘ala au Ibrahim (Allah, sendupon Muhammad as You sent Salah upon the family of Ibrahim. Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim).” (Sahih)
