حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ كَانَ قَدْ جَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمًا يَعْتَكِفُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَسَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that 'Umar had obliged himself during the JaahiLiyyah to spend a night in i'tikaaf. He asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) about that and he told him to observe i'tikaaf.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ أَخْبَرَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ بَاعَ نَخْلًا قَدْ أُبِّرَتْ فَثَمَرَتُهَا لِلْبَائِعِ وَمَنْ بَاعَ عَبْدًا لَهُ مَالٌ فَمَالُهُ لِلْبَائِعِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever sells a pollinated palm tree, the crop belongs to the one who sold it, and whoever sells a slave who has wealth, his wealth belongs to the one who sold hinv unless the buyer stipulated otherwise."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ خَمْسًا الْحُدَيَّا وَالْغُرَابَ وَالْفَأْرَةَ وَالْعَقْرَبَ وَالْكَلْبَ الْعَقُورَ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said "The muhrim (pilgrim in ihram) may kill five: kites, crows, rats, scorpions, and vicious dogs.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الشَّأْمِ مِنْ الْجُحْفَةِ وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنٌ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: "The miqaat of the people of Madmah is Dhu'l-Hulayfah, the miqaat of the people of ash-Shaam (Syria) is al-Juhfah, and the miqaat of the people of Najd is Qarn,” The people said: The miqaat of the people of Yemen is Yalamlam.

It was narrated from ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) out off the hand of a thief for a shield, the value of which was three dirhams.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَتَشٍ أَخْبَرَنِي النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ سَلْمَانَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ صَنْعَاءَ قَالَ كُنَّا بِمَكَّةَ فَجَلَسْنَا إِلَى عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ إِلَى جَنْبِ جِدَارِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَمْ نَسْأَلْهُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْنَا قَالَ ثُمَّ جَلَسْنَا إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ مِثْلَ مَجْلِسِكُمْ هَذَا فَلَمْ نَسْأَلْهُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْنَا قَالَ فَقَالَ مَا بَالُكُمْ لَا تَتَكَلَّمُونَ وَلَا تَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قُولُوا اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ بِوَاحِدَةٍ عَشْرًا وَبِعَشْرٍ مِائَةً مَنْ زَادَ زَادَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ سَكَتَ غَفَرَ لَهُ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَمْسٍ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ مَنْ حَالَتْ شَفَاعَتُهُ دُونَ حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ مُضَادُّ اللَّهِ فِي أَمْرِهِ وَمَنْ أَعَانَ عَلَى خُصُومَةٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ فَهُوَ مُسْتَظِلٌّ فِي سَخَطِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَ وَمَنْ قَفَا مُؤْمِنًا أَوْ مُؤْمِنَةً حَبَسَهُ اللَّهُ فِي رَدْغَةِ الْخَبَالِ عُصَارَةِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ أُخِذَ لِصَاحِبِهِ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ لَا دِينَارَ ثَمَّ وَلَا دِرْهَمَ وَرَكْعَتَا الْفَجْرِ حَافِظُوا عَلَيْهِمَا فَإِنَّهُمَا مِنْ الْفَضَائِلِ

It was narrated that Ayyoob ibn Salmaan - a man from San'aa' - said: We were in Makkah and we sat (in the circle Of) Ata' al-Khurasaani, beside the wall of the mosque, but we did not ask him anything and he did not narrate any tiling to us. Then we sat (in the circle of) Ibn 'Umar, this gathering of yours, but We did not ask him anything and he did not narrate anything to us. He said: Why don't you speak and remember Allah (dhikr)? Say: Allahu akbar (Allah is most great), al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah), Subhaan Allah wa bihamdihi (glory and praise be to Allah), a tenfold reward for one and a hundredfold reward for ten. Whoever does more than that, Allah will give him more, and whoever is silent, Allah will forgive him. Shall I not tell you of five things that i heard from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)? They said: Yes. He said: "The one whose intercession prevented one of the hudood punishments ordained by Allah (from being carried out), has opposed the command of Allah. Whoever disputes on the basis of falsehood knowingly will remain subject to the wrath of Allah until he gives it up. Whoever says concerning the believing man or woman something that is not true, Allah will detain him in the mud of the juice of the people of Hell. Whoever dies owing a debt, some of his hasanaat will be taken and given to the creditor; there will be no dinars and dirhams there. And two rak'ahs (before) Fajr, always offer them, for they are virtuous deeds.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَتَشٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ خَرَجَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُرِيدُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَى عَلَى عُطَارِدٍ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَهُوَ يُقِيمُ حُلَّةً مِنْ حَرِيرٍ يَبِيعُهَا فَأَتَى عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَأَيْتُ عُطَارِدًا يَبِيعُ حُلَّتَهُ فَاشْتَرِيهَا تَلْبَسْهَا إِذَا أَتَاكَ وُفُودُ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ الْحَرِيرَ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattaab set out, intending to go to the Prophet (PBUH) and he came across 'Utaarid, a man from Banu Tameem, who was selling a suit of striped silk. 'Umar came to the prophet (PBUH) and said: O messenger of Allah, I saw Utaarid selling his suit; shall I buy it for you to wear when the Relegations of the people come to you ? He said: "Silk is only worn by one who will have no share in the Hereafter."

حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا سَمِعَ مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا أَوْ شَهِدَ مَعَهُ مَشْهَدًا لَمْ يُقَصِّرْ دُونَهُ أَوْ يَعْدُوهُ قَالَ فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ وَعُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُصُّ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ إِذْ قَالَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ إِنْ أَقْبَلَتْ إِلَى هَذِهِ الْغَنَمِ نَطَحَتْهَا وَإِنْ أَقْبَلَتْ إِلَى هَذِهِ نَطَحَتْهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ لَيْسَ هَكَذَا فَغَضِبَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ وَفِي الْمَجْلِسِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَيْفَ قَالَ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ قَالَ مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ مَثَلُ الشَّاةِ بَيْنَ الرَّبِيضَيْنِ إِنْ أَقْبَلَتْ إِلَى ذَا الرَّبِيضِ نَطَحَتْهَا وَإِنْ أَقْبَلَتْ إِلَى ذَا الرَّبِيضِ نَطَحَتْهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ هُمَا وَاحِدٌ قَالَ كَذَا سَمِعْتُ

Abu Ja'far said: If'Abdullah ibn 'Umar heard something from the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) or was present at an event with him, he would not fall short in any way (in conveying what he had heard or seen) and he would not go beyond that. Whilst he was sitting and 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr was talking to the people of Makkah, 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr said: The likeness of the hypocrites is that of a sheep between two flocks; if i comes to one flock they push it away, and if it comes to the other flock they push it away. 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: It is not like that. And 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr got angry. 'Abdullah ibn Safwaan also present in the gathering and he said: O Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, how did (the Prophet (PBUH)) say it, may Allah have mercy on you? He said: He said: likeness of the hypocrites is that of a sheep between two pens, if it goes to one pen, they push it away, and if it goes to the other pen, they push it away." He said to him: May Allah have mercy on you, they are the same! He said: This is how I heard it, this is how I heard it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ وَسَيَأْتِي مَنْ يَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَتَسْمَعُونَ مِنْهُ قَالَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ جَالِسًا قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ

It was narrated from Simaak: I heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Messenger of Allah prayed inside the Ka'bah, but there will come one who will tell you not to do that, and you will listen to him He (the narrator) said: He was referring to Ibn 'Abbaas. And Ibn Abbaas was sitting near him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْقَزَعِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَهُوَ الرُّقْعَةُ فِي الرَّأْسِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade cjaza'. 'Abd as- Samad said: This refers to leaving patches on the head (and shaving the rest of the hair)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet said: "Maghrib prayer makes the prayers of the day odd-numbered so make the prayers of the night odd-numbered (by praying Witr). The night prayers are two (rak'ahs) by two, and Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَرْقَاءُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْقَزَعِ فِي الرَّأْسِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade qaza' (shaving part of a boy's head and leaving part).
